Day 17 – June 4, 2010

The news was right, it was pouring out side.  I was up at 5:30 and had some front lobby coffee that was not very good.  Rain gear on again and off to get fuel.  The rear sprocket with the broken tooth was still hanging in there.

Boise, Idaho traffic was fairly light as I continued West.  About 30 miles later I got on the smaller hwy 20 and got fuel in Vale.  It was very wet all the way so far.  I need to remember to Scotch Guard the crotch of the rain pants as you can probably figure out why!  113 miles later I stopped in Burns for some quick Mc Breakfast and fuel and off to Bend in the very wet high plains Eastern Oregon desert.  It's OK ‘cause I'm back in OREGON again!

Another stop in Bend for fuel and a couple of more people, who knew me, said “Hi”.  I'm getting closer to home with every mile. Down hwy 97 to the 138 junction and down the North Umpqua Hwy for one last fuel stop at Dry Creek.

I pulled into Oregon Tool & Supply right at 3:00 to say “Hi” to the guys.  None of my gals were there so I went home and Andi came running out very excited to see her dad.  She went back in and yelled at Joni that I was home.  It was a very good reception and I am happy to be home again.  A total of 7,100 miles with NO tickets, NO fall downs and only minor repairs along the way.  I love it when a plan comes together.

Until the next ride, thanks for joining me and I hope I put a smile on your face.......
